Our warranty program covers leaks, structural integrity, and everything in between, with clear terms and a simple claims process.
This page covers all YES Containers warranties. Read the section that applies to your purchase.

1. DrySeal 5-Year Leak Coverage

Included with every container purchase — no extra cost.

When a covered leak is reported, YES Containers will ship you a professional-grade repair kit at no additional charge.

Your Repair Kit Includes

  • Fiberglass-reinforced polyester patch — bonds to all surfaces except polypropylene (PP)
  • Flexible formula — cures solid within 1 hour
  • UV-activated: 5–10 minutes in direct sunlight; 50 minutes on a cloudy day
  • Can be drilled, sanded, and painted after curing
  • Resistant to chemicals, solvents, and oils

What's NOT Covered

  • Door seal, gasket, or door frame leaks — these are wear items and owner maintenance
  • Structural frame issues (see SteelStrong warranty below)
  • Floor rot, floor damage, or floor leaks
  • Surface rust, dents, scratches, or cosmetic wear
  • Leaks caused by modification, misuse, or user-caused damage
  • Damage resulting from failure to maintain the container (painting every 2–3 years is strongly recommended)

2. DrySeal Extended — 25-Year Leak Coverage

Optional add-on — $50 at time of purchase. Extends your leak coverage for the working life of your container.

DrySeal Extended covers the same items as the standard 5-year plan, but for 25 years — aligned with the realistic working lifespan of a well-maintained shipping container. For as long as your coverage is active, every qualified claim gets a repair kit shipped to you at no extra cost.

Covered and not-covered items are identical to the DrySeal 5-Year Coverage above. Duration is the only difference.

3. SteelStrong 10-Year Structural Guarantee

Included with every container purchase — no extra cost.

The SteelStrong Guarantee covers the core structural frame of your container — the steel beams and framework that give it strength and rigidity — under normal stationary storage conditions.

  • Steel frame beams and structural framework

What's NOT Covered

  • Doors, seals, gaskets, or hinges
  • Floors
  • Cosmetic appearance — surface rust, scratches, dents
  • Any structural damage caused by relocation, modification, or misuse

⚠ Moving or modifying your container after delivery will void this warranty.

4. Warranty Activation — Required for All Warranties

All YES Containers warranties must be activated within 30 days of delivery or pick-up. Failure to activate within this window will void your warranty coverage.

Activation establishes a baseline record of your container's condition and links coverage to your order. It takes less than 5 minutes.

How to Activate

Email warranty@yescontainers.com with the subject line: "Warranty Activation — [Your Order Number]"

Include the following:

  • Your full name (as it appears on your order)
  • Your order number
  • Your container's serial number (stamped on the container itself)
  • The full address or location where the container has been placed
  • One photo of the container as delivered or picked up

We will confirm your activation by email within 2 business days.

Pick-Up Orders

If you collected your container directly from a depot, the same activation process and 30-day window applies. Activation is especially important for pick-up orders since there is no delivery documentation on file. Without activation, your warranty cannot be honored.

5. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Email warranty@yescontainers.com with the subject line: "Warranty Claim — [Your Order Number]"

Include the following:

  • Your full name and order number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos of the affected area

For DrySeal claims (leak coverage), we will ship your repair kit within 2–3 business days of approving the claim. YES Containers reserves the right to request additional photos or documentation before issuing warranty materials.

6. A Note on Maintenance

Your warranty is not a substitute for maintenance. The lifespan and performance of your container depends heavily on upkeep — especially in coastal, high-humidity, or high-rainfall environments.

Our Recommendations

  • Apply a high-quality rust-inhibiting paint every 2–3 years
  • Inspect your container at least once a year for signs of surface rust or wear
  • Keep drainage channels and door seals clear of debris
  • Lubricate door hinges and locking rods annually

Leaks or structural issues caused by a failure to maintain the container are not covered under any YES Containers warranty.

7. General Conditions

  • All warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable.
  • Warranties are void if the container has been modified, relocated (structural warranty), or subjected to misuse.
  • Normal wear and tear, surface rust, cosmetic imperfections, and owner-caused damage are not covered under any warranty.
  • YES Containers reserves the right to request inspection photos or documentation before approving any warranty claim.
  • The warranties described on this page represent the entire warranty agreement between the customer and YES Containers.
